Malaysian Documents Translation For OCI India: Your Family Roots, Clear In English

Many Malaysian families trace their roots back to India. An OCI card keeps that link alive. The High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur reads your file in English. Our Malaysian documents translation for OCI India puts Malay papers into careful English for checking, drafts and other OCI papers. We are not a court translator, so where your checklist names one, we say so before you pay.

We do Malay to English translation for OCI files: copies for checking, drafts and your other OCI papers. The High Commission checklist asks for some papers to be translated by a court translator (jurubahasa mahkamah), then endorsed at Wisma Putra. We are not a court translator. For those papers, we tell you before you pay and explain the route.

The High Commission rule

OCI Card Document Translation Rules From India's Malaysia Mission

The High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur publishes one OCI checklist. It says plainly which Malay papers need English, and who should translate them. On the left you see each rule in simple words. On the right you see how our OCI card document translation meets it. Where we cannot meet a rule ourselves, we tell you before payment.

  1. 01English for Malay papers

    What the High Commission asks

Your Malaysian birth certificate must be in English if it is in Bahasa Malaysia.

    What we do for you

We translate every line, box and stamp. Nothing on the page is skipped.

  2. 02Court translator named

    What the High Commission asks

The checklist says a court translator (jurubahasa mahkamah) should make the English copy.

    What we do for you

We are not a court translator. For papers that need one, we tell you before you pay and explain the route.

  3. 03Wisma Putra endorsement

    What the High Commission asks

The birth certificate copy must be endorsed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya.

    What we do for you

For papers that need the court translator's copy, we explain the route to Putrajaya before you pay.

  4. 04Parents follow one rule

    What the High Commission asks

Your father's and mother's birth or citizenship papers follow the same English and endorsement rule.

    What we do for you

We quote all generations together. Each family name is spelled one way only.

  5. 05Both versions on the day

    What the High Commission asks

Bring the Malay and English versions, each as an original and a photocopy.

    What we do for you

Our hard copies stay clean for copying. The PDF lets you print more at home.

  6. 06Marriage papers for spouses

    What the High Commission asks

Spouse applicants add a marriage certificate, translated and endorsed the same way.

    What we do for you

Your sijil perkahwinan goes into English with names matched to both passports.

Rules can change. Always read the High Commission's latest OCI checklist before your appointment.

India-Bound Papers: Translate Malaysian Documents For OCI In Order

From any town in Malaysia, you can translate Malaysian documents for OCI at home. Most families send two or three generations at once. We treat them as one set, so names never drift apart. The steps below run from your first photo to signed copies at your door. Where your checklist needs a court translator's copy, we say so first.

  1. Step 1

    Collect Family Certificates

Find your birth certificate, your parents' papers and any older family records you hold.

  2. Step 2

    Photograph Every Page

Take a clear photo of the front and back of each paper in daylight.

  3. Step 3

    Share The OCI Checklist

Send the photos with your route, your appointment date and your passport spelling.

  4. Step 4

    Signer And Total Confirmed

We reply with one family total and name the person who will sign.

  5. Step 5

    Generations Translated Together

One translator writes the English, keeping every family name the same on each page.

  6. Step 6

    Second Check, Then Signing

A checker reads it against the Malay. You approve the draft before we sign and stamp.

  7. Step 7

    PDF, Then Hard Copies

The PDF reaches you first. Signed hard copies follow by courier to your door.

Family pricing

OCI Fees For Malay To English Translation In Malaysia

Malay to English translation for OCI is priced per page. One birth certificate costs little. A three-generation family set costs more, but you see one clear total. Any extra step sits on its own line, so you can say yes or no. Government fees at Wisma Putra and the High Commission are paid there, not to us.

Starting price

RM80

per page, starting price

RM80 per page is a starting estimate for one clear Malay page. Your quote shows the real total. A notary stamp and courier are extra and optional.

What decides your final price

  • Generations In The Set

Only you, or parents and grandparents too? Every certificate and back page counts.

  • Old Handwritten Records

Faded ink and old typewriter print take longer to read with care.

  • Tamil Lines On Papers

Tamil names or margin notes need a Tamil reader as well.

  • Who Signs Your Copy

If your checklist needs a particular signer, that may change the fee.

  • Appointment Date Soon

A close High Commission slot may need rush work at a small extra cost.

  • Hard Copies By Courier

Paper copies go by courier, priced by your town.

In a hurry? Is your OCI appointment close? A single Malay page can often be ready as a PDF the same day. Wisma Putra and signing steps add their own time.

OCI File Prep For Parents' Birth Certificate Translation, Malaysia

A little care now saves a second trip to Putrajaya. These six things help our team quote fast and translate right. Every family we help through our online translation services Malaysia gets the same list. For an OCI file, passport spelling and the parents' papers matter most. Gather them before you upload.

Sending papers for parents and children too? Put them all in one order. Names then match across every generation.

  • Each Page, Front And Back

Old JPN certificates often hide notes or stamps on the back. Photograph both sides.

  • Passport Pages For Every Person

Send the photo page of each passport, so names follow the passport exactly.

  • Your OCI Checklist From The High Commission

Paste or photograph it. We mark which papers need English and which do not.

  • Your OCI Route

New card, spouse, re-issue or PIO conversion. Each route needs different papers.

  • Your Appointment Date

Tell us the date. We plan the work back from it, leaving time for Putrajaya.

  • Delivery Address For Hard Copies

Give a town and full address for the courier of your hard copies.

Why OCI files come back

OCI File Translation Slips That Delay Cards In Malaysia

Most returned OCI papers fail on small points. A name is spelled two ways. A back page is missing. The signer does not match the checklist wording. Below are the slips we see most often in Malaysian family files for India. Next to each one is what we do to stop it happening to yours.

  • Signer Does Not Fit The Checklist

The High Commission names a court translator, and Wisma Putra attests only listed translators. A copy from anyone else may be turned back.

Before payment we name your signer in writing. If it does not fit, we tell you plainly.

  • Wisma Putra Step Left Out

The checklist wants the birth certificate copy endorsed in Putrajaya. Without it, the counter may stop your file.

We explain the order on day one, including which papers need the court translator's copy.

  • Only The English Copy Brought

Officers ask for both versions, as originals and photocopies. One missing sheet can mean a new appointment.

Your delivery note lists every sheet to bring, in the right order.

  • Names Spelled Differently From Passports

A father's name with a/l on one paper and without it on another raises doubts.

We keep each paper as printed and follow passport spelling. A short note links the forms.

  • Parents' Papers Still In Malay

Your own certificate is in English, but your parents' papers are not. The link to India stays unread.

We quote the full family set together, so no generation is forgotten.

  • Stamps Or Margin Notes Skipped

Self-made or machine copies often drop seals, back pages and Tamil notes. Officers then see a partial record.

Every stamp, seal and note is translated. Words we cannot read get a clear [unclear] mark.

Read your checklist one more time before your appointment. Rules can change without much notice.

These families sent us papers for their OCI document translation. Some sent one birth certificate. Others sent a grandmother's faded record and a whole family set. OCI Applicant Doubts On Malaysian Marriage And Birth Translations

Still not sure?

Send your question with the quote form. A translator replies, not a bot.

Ask your question

My Indian High Commission Checklist Asks For A Court Translator. Can Your OCI Copy Meet That Wording?

We are not a court translator (jurubahasa mahkamah), so our copy cannot meet that wording. We tell you before you pay which of your papers need that copy and explain the route. We can still translate drafts and your other OCI papers.

Will Wisma Putra Accept Your English Copy For My OCI File?

Usually not, for the papers your checklist sends there. Wisma Putra's page lists the translators it attests, such as court translators and ITBM, and we are not one of them. For those papers, we tell you before you pay and explain the route.

Do My Parents' Malay Birth Certificates Also Need English For My OCI Application?

Usually yes. The checklist asks for parents' papers in English when they are in Bahasa Malaysia, endorsed in the same way. We translate them with yours so every family name matches.

Which Comes First For My OCI File, The English Copy Or Putrajaya?

The English copy comes first, made by the translator your checklist names. Then the Malay original and that English copy go to Putrajaya together. After that, both go into your OCI file.

My Late Father's Death Certificate Is In Malay. Does The OCI Checklist Need It In English?

It often helps when his own papers stop at a certain date. If your checklist or officer lists it, it needs English like the rest. We match his name to his birth certificate.

I Have Three Birth Certificates For One Indian Heritage File. Can You Price Them As One Set?

Yes. Send a photo of each certificate in one message. You get one total for the family, and one translator keeps every surname the same.

I Live In Penang. Can I Order OCI Papers Without Travelling To Kuala Lumpur?

Yes. You send photos by email and we courier signed hard copies to your home. Only Wisma Putra and your High Commission appointment need you in person.

My Child Got A New Passport. Does The OCI Re-Issue Need New Translations?

Usually not, because re-issue mostly needs passports and the old card. If the child's name changed, the proof of that change may need English. Check the miscellaneous services list before ordering.

I Am An Indian Citizen In Malaysia. Can You Translate My Marriage Certificate For My Indian Passport Update?

Yes. We put your Malaysian marriage certificate into English, with names exactly as in your Indian passport. Your passport form may list extra steps, so check it too.

Can Someone Else Take My Papers To Wisma Putra For My OCI File?

Yes. Wisma Putra says a representative may hand in papers for you, with an authorisation letter. You or your helper take the set to the counter; we do not hand papers in ourselves.
