Product Label Translation In Malaysia: Pack Text Proofed Before Print

Bringing stock in, or sending local goods abroad? Every pack needs words that buyers and inspectors can read. Our product label translation puts ingredients, warnings, storage and maker details into clear Malay. We also work the other way for export. We also proofread labels that someone else translated. We work to the rule you name, then check your artwork before print. Your own team keeps the final compliance sign-off.

Yes. Our packaging translation covers food, cosmetic, device, medicine and chemical labels. Text goes into Bahasa Malaysia or other languages. We also proofread existing label translations. You get Malay text for each SKU, a second linguist check and an artwork proof check. We follow the rule you name, but compliance stays with you and the regulator.

What we translate

Panels, Inserts And Stickers In Our Packaging Translation Scope

A pack carries more words than most brands expect. Front and back panels, flaps, inserts and shipper boxes all count. We translate each one into Bahasa Malaysia, or into other languages for export. We also check labels that another team already translated. Each card shows the Malay name a printer or regulator may use. Food, cosmetics, devices, medicines and chemicals each follow their own rule.

Snack Pack Sample: Food Label Translation Into Bahasa Malaysia

Picture a back panel after our work. The snack below is invented, but its lines are typical of a Chinese import. Each source line sits beside its Malay version, ready for your designer. Imported food may carry Malay or English, and many importers choose a Malay sticker. Your own pack keeps its exact order and wording.

Rule-aware checks

Malaysian Rule Checks On Each Cosmetic Label Translation Job

Good pack text needs more than correct grammar. It must follow the rule for your product. First we note the rule that applies to you. It may be Food Regulations 1985, NPRA cosmetic or drug rules, MDA guidance, the halal orders or CLASS. Then six checks run on every job. Final sign-off stays with your team.

  • Rule Named First

We write your product's rule on the job sheet, so every linguist works to it.

  • One Glossary Per Range

Claims, allergens and warnings get one Malay term each, reused on every SKU.

  • Second Linguist Read

A second Malay linguist checks each line against the source before you see it.

  • Halal Lines Matched

Halal names and certifier details are copied from your certificate, never invented.

  • Dose And Warning Lines

Doses, units and warnings on inserts and device labels are checked twice.

  • Artwork Proof Check

After layout, we compare the PDF with the agreed text for dropped lines and broken words.

Name the regulator on your quote form. It saves a round of questions and keeps the wording on track.

File to final proof

Artwork To Proof: Ordering Your Product Label Translation Online

Label orders run online from anywhere in Malaysia or overseas. You send artwork or photos, and we reply with a word count and a fixed quote. Translation, review and proofing then follow in a set order. Most short labels take a day or two. Large ranges get a schedule built back from your print date.

  1. Step 1

    Photograph Every Panel

Get artwork files ready, or clear photos of every panel, flap and insert.

  2. Step 2

    Send With Product Details

Upload them and tell us the product type, the regulator and the target market.

  3. Step 3

    Receive SKU Quote

We count words per SKU, mark shared lines and send a fixed price.

  4. Step 4

    Approve And Confirm

Approve by email or purchase order, and we plan around your print date.

  5. Step 5

    Translators Begin

One linguist writes the label text, using one glossary for the whole range.

  6. Step 6

    Check And Proof

A second linguist checks each line, then we proof your designer's PDF.

  7. Step 7

    Final Text Delivered

You get an Excel sheet sorted by SKU, ready for print and reorders.

Word count and fixed quote before any work.

Priced by the word

Per-Word Cost Of Bahasa Malaysia Label Translation, Quoted First

Label text is short, so we price it by the word, not by the page. Lines that repeat across your range are counted once where possible. Your quote shows each SKU on its own line. Proofreading an existing translation is quoted separately. You agree the total in ringgit before any work starts.

Starting price

RM0.50

per word, starting price

RM0.50 per word is a starting figure, not a final price. Proof rounds, proofreading and rush work are quoted on their own lines.

Get my exact price

What decides your final price

  • Words On Each Panel

A full back panel costs more than a short front label.

  • Size Of The Range

Shared lines across many SKUs are counted once where possible.

  • Language On The Source

Chinese, Korean, Japanese or Thai packs cost more than English ones.

  • Regulated Detail

Device IFUs, medicine inserts and chemical hazard text take longer than snack packs.

  • Translate Or Proofread

Checking a ready translation costs less than writing a new one.

  • Print Or Port Date

Rush work before a fixed print slot costs more.

In a hurry? Stock waiting at the port, or a printer booked for Monday? Tell us the date first. Short labels can often be turned around quickly, and we confirm the time before you pay.

Brief in one upload

Pack Files To Gather Before Consumer Goods Label Translation

A complete brief turns a label job into a quick one. Most of what we need already sits with your product or regulatory team. Gather these six items before you upload, and our questions drop to almost none. For a device or medicine, add the IFU or insert too. Then the carton, label and leaflet share the same Malay terms.

Need only a proofread? Send the source text and the current translation side by side.

  • Every Panel And Flap

Photos or artwork of all sides, including base, lid and inner flaps.

  • SKU List With Codes

One row per product, so our Malay text maps back to your system.

  • Product Class And Regulator

Food, cosmetic, device, medicine or chemical, plus the office you deal with.

  • Halal Certificate Copy

If the pack shows a halal logo, send the certificate so the names match.

  • Target Market And Language

Malay for the local shelf, or the export country and its language.

  • Print Or Shipping Date

Your real deadline lets us plan proof rounds before the printer slot.

Avoid a reprint

Costly Slips In Import Sticker And Label Translation Work

A wrong word on ten thousand boxes costs far more than a check. These are the slips we see most when packs reach us for a second look. They come from our own label jobs, not from an official list. Each one can mean a reprint or stock held back. So we test for all six before delivery.

  • Machine-Translated Allergen Lines

Free tools can turn allergens into odd or wrong Malay. A shopper with an allergy may miss the warning.

A human linguist writes every allergen line, and a second linguist checks it against the source.

  • Only The Front Panel Translated

Brands translate the name and claims but forget storage, dates or maker lines.

We translate every panel, flap and insert, then tick each one off against your artwork.

  • Halal Wording Without A Certificate

A pack that adds halal words or a logo without valid certification risks action under the trade description rules.

We copy halal names and certifier details only from your certificate. We never add a halal claim.

  • Carton And Insert Disagree

The carton says one dose or storage line, and the leaflet says another.

One glossary covers the carton, label and insert, and we compare them before delivery.

  • Malay Text Too Long For The Panel

Malay often runs longer than English or Chinese, so designers cut words to make it fit.

Tell us the space, and we write a shorter line that keeps the meaning.

  • Chemical Label In English Only

A workplace chemical label with English alone misses the two-language CLASS layout.

We supply Malay hazard and precaution text to sit beside your English.

Never let a designer shorten Malay text alone. Send the cut version back to us for a quick check.

Before you print

Pre-Print Doubts About Product Label Translation In Malaysia

Still not sure?

Send your question with the quote form. A translator replies, not a bot.

Ask your question

Must Food Made In Malaysia Carry A Malay Label?

Yes. For locally made food, the label is written in Bahasa Malaysia, and other languages may be added as translations. Imported food may use Malay or English instead. Infant formula, some special-purpose foods and certain milk products need Malay either way.

Is English Alone Enough On An Imported Cosmetic Label?

NPRA's cosmetic guideline says label details may be in Bahasa Malaysia and/or English. So English alone can meet that line. Many brands still add Malay for local shoppers, and we can add it to the same order.

Does A Home-Use Device Label Have To Be Fully In Malay?

MDA's labelling FAQ says all labelling for home-use devices is translated into Bahasa Malaysia. Brand names, proper nouns and words that are the same in both languages can stay. We translate the carton, device label and IFU together.

Can You Proofread Product Labels That Another Translator Already Wrote?

Yes. Send the source text and the current translation. We mark each change and give a short reason, so your team can decide. Proofreading is quoted per word, below a new translation.

How Is Label Translation Priced For A Range Of Many SKUs?

We price by the word and list each SKU on its own line. Lines that repeat across the range are counted once where possible. You see the full total before we start.

Will NPRA, MDA Or KKM Pass Our Label Because You Translated It?

We cannot promise that, because the regulator decides. We give complete, careful text that follows the rule you name. Your company stays responsible for the final label and its compliance.

Which Languages Go On A Hazardous Chemical Label For Malaysian Workplaces?

Guidance on the DOSH CLASS Regulations 2013 describes a label in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. We write the Malay hazard and precautionary statements to sit with your English text. Our technical team can help with the safety data sheet as well.

Can Your Linguists Shorten Malay Packaging Text To Fit A Small Panel?

Yes. Tell us the space or character limit for each panel. We write a shorter Malay line that keeps the meaning and mark it clearly. Your designer then never has to cut words alone.

Can You Add A Halal Statement To Our Product Packaging?

No. Under the 2011 trade description halal orders, a halal claim rests on certification by JAKIM or a state Islamic religious council. We only translate halal wording that already matches your valid certificate. Ask your certifier before adding anything new.

Can You Translate A Medicine Package Insert For An NPRA Product File?

Yes. We translate inserts and carton text into Malay or English, and check doses and units twice. NPRA's drug registration guide sets the labelling rules, so check its latest appendix first.
